Eating, but not pooping

Hello! My leopard gecko Lucy went through some tough medical issues a few months ago, she had a case of mouth rot and then was scared of eating for months.

She was on carnivore care with the occasional wax worm because it was all she felt confident eating. After about 3 months of this (no weight loss, no lethargy, and mouth rot cleared up) she finally started eating mealworms again. The problem is now I think she is having trouble digesting her new food.

Once she started eating again, there was a gap in her pooping then she did two huge poops two days in a row. In the past week, she has urated a few times without pooping and she has a dark spot right above her vent, but her whole belly looks normal. I feel like she is pushing out the urate more often than normal because she's trying to push out the poop.

My question is what is safe to do and what is too much to do? Over the last week, I've done two drops of olive oil and a couple of baths with belly rubs. She seems to be stressed by everything so I try to spread it out. Is it safe to do olive oil every day? Multiple times a day? Same with baths and massages? Any other advice?

I have had leopard geckos hold out on me for a while and not poop. It sounds as if you've already done the olive oil and warm soak treatment. I would recommend giving her more time and not stressing her with more treatments. If her behavior changes drastically and she becomes lethargic, consider another treatment and/or a vet visit.

She’s continuing to act normal, I haven’t fed her this week because I don’t want to stop her up more. It’s probably been two weeks since she’s pooped, how much longer should I wait before I bring her to the vet?
