My juvenile leopard gecko, Kiwi, is a girl. She’s about 6-7 months old and I got her 2 months ago from a reptile store. During this time, she ate just fine and would actually eat a lot more if I had let her. Ever since I got her, she’s ALWAYS hidden in the largest hide she has. Only time she would move is to go to the moist hide to poop/pee. Then she’d go right back to the biggest hide and lay there all day and night. So she’s always been inactive. However her eating and poop was always perfect. Now 2 weeks ago, she shed. And she ate it and got all of the shed off. Ever since, she hasn’t eaten a single thing. Not her favorite mealworms, crickets, Dubai’s, nothing. She’s always been pretty small and her tail isn’t as fat as I’d like no matter how much I fed her prior. I took her to the vet and he told me to syringe feed her critical care, but after the first day, she won’t take it at all and gets extremely stressed so I leave her be.
Her tank before hand was a little too cold so I got a new bulb and the hot side is 88-92 and the cool side is like 75 or so. I always keep water in there and spray a little water in there every other day because I never see her drink any. She has reptile carpet so I don’t really think impaction.
However about 3 weeks ago before shedding one of her poops had a partially digested dubia, so it was obviously too big for her but she pooped it out.
I’m just at an absolute loss. I don’t want to take her to the vet that much because they said they will force feed her but I’m just so scared she’ll be even more stressed.
Anyways, I’ve got her tank to the right heat and it has been for 5 days now, and she’s STILL not eating. She doesn’t look any skinnier but I’d really just like if she ate. I’ve tried so much.
