A little gift from my wyberba

Well, I've certainly had an interesting weekend.

On Saturday I noticed my Saltuarius wyberba female was suddenly much flatter than before.
She's been gravid for some time, so I started the egg search.
She was obviously digging in the laying box I provided, but it seems she didn't like it and moved on.
I almost had to take apart the whole terrarium, but I finally found a pair of perfect eggs buried in the most hidden spot between two corks.

The first clutch of the season: :D

And in the meantime the older sister was checking what was going on with her younger siblings.

And Sunday was another exciting day, probably even more. :)

Finally some leaftail photos, this forum was getting slow!

Congrats on the eggs (and the taylori)!! :D When do you cool yours? Mine are still cooling, usually don't get any eggs til April at the earliest.

Thanks Derek

From these eggs not for about 3 months.

But with a little cheating.... :)

(These are old photos of the last year's hatchlings.)

When do you cool yours?

I cooled them in November and December.

Indeed they are. I like them so much.
I just hope I'll be able to work with some other species one day as well.

That's all you got this weekend? Wyberba and taylori eggs? What's wrong...couldn't get some naultinus too? ;-)
Sheesh, I wish I had weekends like yours

Not at all. I also got an egg from Gonatodes a. fuscus and one from G. caudiscutatus. One U. guentheri also hatched on Friday and one silver eye felinus baby as well, but I didn't think that was worth mentioning.

By the end of the year I got a feeling that female was getting rounder in the belly, so I started raising the temperatures in early January.
This is the start of my third season with wyberba and I already have quite a good feeling telling when the female is gravid.

I wouldn't hold my breath about the taylori. :) That species is still a long way away from a stable CB population. I definitely want to build a decent CB breeding group first.

Haha, no worries Matjaz. I assumed this and would have used a pn for a serious inquiry;-) Just to support how jealous I am.
