As you can guess I'm new here. So a little about myself, my name is Candice, I'm a full time student, happily married and an artist. I recently rescued a leopard gecko from some friends of mine because they couldn't take care of her anymore, and hadn't fed her in months. She was on her death bed when I got her. I didn't know anything about them so I had to do a lot of reading and research.

I'm happy to say I got her back up to a good weight, and got her tail fattened up again. I also gave her a bigger home, from a 10 gallon to a 40g breeder tank. She also has some new roommates, another female and a male. I hope to breed them.

Daisy (the rescue) loves her bigger home, Peach (other female) and Bowser (male) also like their new home and all three are getting along wonderfully.

Thanks Elizabeth, I appreciate your kindness. I try to help animals whenever I can, whether it's sending money to WWF, ASPCA, etc or stopping on a busy street to help a turtle cross the road. Lol my husband got to know real fast that if I find an injured animal or whatever, we'd be taking care of it.

I love Daisy's first owners but they kept forgetting to feed her. It seemed like 2 months had gone past with no food or lighting whatsoever. Just a heat rock to keep her warm...thankfully they gave her to me no prob, begging me to take her. When I took her home she was literally a twig. Her tail was the width of a toothpick and her body was about the same. Lethargic, etc..

She's still on the small side compared to Peach and Bowser but she's healthy and happy here. To be honest I had no idea how difficult it could be to get a vivarium together with all the proper temps, lighting, food, hides etc...it got expensive, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Hi Candice ~

You're welcome. Sounds as if your efforts have been well-rewarded! Hope that you ditched the heat rock, which could cause burns. Now you have some new buddies.
