okay not to sound dumb, but what do you mean exactly with the gradient? just put the basking platform in and make sure the tank stays hot on the warm side for him to bask on?

Yes, cool to warm 24/7. You want to check the temp underneath the bulb (platform where he will lay) and make sure it's within the same temps you will provide with a UTH , 88-93. Changes are you will have to try several watt bulbs. Good luck with that.

Good for you! You are very welcome. (I'm in Oregon.)

New tank measures 30 inches long? What size heat mat will you be getting? I would wait to stick it on the new tank! Those are stuck to the tank underneath the glass. If you need to restick it, you can use aluminum foil electricians' tape.

Not a fan of daily dusting or using a supplement containing protein. I would go with these instead of Repashy's, really:
NOW brand pure calcium carbonate
Zoo Med's phosphorus-free calcium with D3
Reptivite with D3

Use according to the LGs.

Okay so crickets4u and Elizabeth, I got a rock hide that has a flat top for basking and a hide underneath! im going to take a temp of the top of the rock now, and opening the doors a bit made the air on the warm side 85! perfect! also I have a question about the dusting of the crickets.

You are not a fan of repashy calcium plus? and I should get reptivite with d3 instead? also you said to dust the crickets 2x a week so does that mean for example, on monday and thursday I dust the crickets then feed them to Django, but all the other days just give Django the crickets without dusting them?

Not a fan of that.

Yes, get Zoo Med's Reptivite with vitamin D3 for light dustings 2x per week (Mon and Thurs) and no dusting the other days.

Keep the pure calcium carbonate powder in a bottlecap in the tank 24/7.

Often a leo prefers to seek warmth in private inside a hide.

Okay I will do that then! And hey Elizabeth, unless he is going in his humid hide, he still has not popped :( it's just worrying me, maybe I'm overanalyzing every little thing but I just want him to be okay, so I can get this new terrarium and properly take care of him. I have been moving things around, because i was getting the other hides and checking temps, so I think im going to try and leave him completely alone today, except when he eats, because maybe he is just stressed? again everything else seems normal, just no poop

Django escapes!!!!!!!

also I just had a HUGE SCARE! so last night i had the glass doors on the front open a little to provide ventilation, even tho crickets4u said my gecko could escape. so this morning I wake up, and decide that I am not going to mess with anything in his terrarium, and leave him completely at peace as maybe he is stressed and still getting used to his new home. so do a quick peek for him however, and he is GONE! i cannot describe how scared I was :( I looked for an hour around my whole apartment! finally I read online they are usually within 10 feet of where they escaped, so I look on my desk behind where the tank is and look through things, i grab my pencil holder, and there he is all curled up looking at me!!!! thank GOD! I am so happy but also sad because he is very scared now and im sure he is more stressed :( but when I got him out of the pencil holder he laid in my hand and I rubbed the tip of his head and he really enjoyed that so right now he is awake in his warm hide, and I gave him a cricket or two just to make sure he wasn't hungry. just wanted to share that story with you all!

Whew! Escaped Leo Found!!! Panic over.......

Check his humid hide :). Often leos choose a regular poop spot and it can be wherever. How does his tummy feel? Is it hard or softish?

From reading your subsequent post, it sounds as if he was planning to leave you alone today too ;-)! (just kidding) Glad you found him!! Know the "lost" panic.

:yahoo:

One sometimes has tunnel vision when looking for escaped geckos! Sounds like he was watching your search :coverlaugh:.

cricket4u has a wealth of knowledge. Listen to her. It could be worse the next time :paddle:. (She, I hope, will be happy that you found him!)

Once my current leo was out of her cage for 3 days before I found her.

yes it was horrifying! im so glad I found him though!!! and i have checked his humid hide and did not sift through the moss but didnt find any poo either, however I did check his stomach today and there was no marks, and it felt softish, or like it should normally, and he didnt look bloated or acting funny either, so I think he is okay :)

Update on Django! Picture!

So the temps are good in my tank, still waiting for a couple things I ordered, but almost everything is here just waiting for my zilla critter cage! Django seems to be doing well, and has grown fond of mealworms, so I have given him some meal worms along with a few crickets sometimes! here is a picture!

Can you just pick one up in-store? Or find a used one for sale locally?

I have already paid enough money, and spent enough. No more spending! He has a tank now just i need this new one. so I am waiting for this new one in order to put all the new things with it and have the perfect home

I meant it might be easier to just get a refund and find one in-store or a used one. I imagine it might be cheaper.

I definitely will post pictures! and embracecalamity I get what your saying, but I really wanted this tank and followed the guidelines a lot. I loved Tony's setup in the video and I basically copied it ha

Just forwarded your compliment to Tony. I am certain he'll be happy about your support.

Which tank have you ordered?
