Yes I will definately be ordering those, I orderd the reusable ones but now when I actually have to use it, it is much better for a trip to the vet or something instead of losing power! Thanks for the help though!
I just hope this doesn't stress her out too much! :( She did well when I first got her (she was eating that day and adapted well so I am hoping for the best!)
just to clarify, put her straight in the styro box?
Also should I do only half of the box with hot hands that way she can go to a cool spot if needed?

Yes, straight into the styro cooler. There is enough air in there for the short term even with the lid on. Remove the lid when you get to your friend's place.

Good idea placing the hot hands at one end of the cooler.

I just ordered the heat packs for the future! I was reading that they have to be left out 30 mins before use but that is for the shipping directions so I wasn't sure if the same held true for regular use?

I think they need fresh air initially to work properly. I'd follow the instructions as it may not heat up without air, or may do bad things to the air (strip it of Oxygen, or add poisin), in the initial 30 mins. You are, after all, shipping, even if you are the courier.

Yeah, for shipping it says to leave it out because the chemicals take out the oxygen from the container but I was planning on using it for power outages instead of shipping.
I rather be safe than sorry though so I will let it air out for the 30 mins! I was just wonering if anyone knew if it would have the same effect in a bigger, open container

Survived the storm it was CRAZY! The leo snow man didn't work out :( it wasn't packable snow! lolll but we are getting rain tonight so maybe after that we will be able to try again!
Anyway, many hot hands later, my girlie is back home and perfectly fine. I actually fed her when she was in the travel carrier at my friends and she ate! I figured she would be too stressed to eat from being moved and all but she seems fine, she even let me hold her a few times. :)

All in all it was a success! SOOO happy this whole thing didn't totally throw her for a loop!
