Recommended temperatures for all leos regardless of size
88-93 F (31-34 C) ground temp at warm end inside the warm dry hide
no greater than 85 F (29.5 C) air temp - 4 inches above ground on the warm end
no greater than 75 F (24.5 C) air temp - 4 inches above ground on the cool end

Leave the UTH on 24/7. Can turn off overhead heating at night unless the ambient room temperatures are particularly cool during the night.

I use a 15 watt incandescent bulb inside a 5.5 inch diameter fixture in the center of the screen top and right next to the CHE. Dim this 15 watt bulb to half power to provide dawn-and-dusk-like lighting since leos are crepuscular. Vary the ON time seasonally according to leos' native habitat. 11 hours ON for February is good.

AH. Yeah I set the thermostat to turn off at 88 I don't know what I was thinking. I'll reset it to 93f that might have something to do with why it's not getting as hot as I expected.

Okay I checked and it actually is set for 93f I just think it's the ambient temp right now. I have a little heater that I turn on at night because the day temp isn't too bad since I do live in Florida. Next week I'll probably purchase the heatmat that I can reuse. At the pet store there was actually two geckos together. I was told they were feeding them six crickets every other day and mealworms too. Like crickets one day, meal worms the next. And so forth. However. I fed her 7 and she still seemed hungry but I wasn't sure if she'd eat til she was full or if she's continue to eat until she exploded. So I stopped at 7. Then again, the other gecko could have steadily been eating all of the food. I dusted them with repticalcium. I'm going to get some reptivite soon. And I am pretty sure my mom has some all purpose poultry food, she has chickens.

Reset your Hydrofarm thermostat to 91*F. Tape the probe of a digital thermometer right to the thermostat's probe to verify. If everything is up to snuff, the actual temp should drop no lower than to 88*F (minus 3*F lower than the setting) prior to the Hydrofarm turning your UTH back on.

Not every leo likes temps above 90 F. 88-93*F is a suggested range.

Get the 11 x 17 inch Reptiterm UTH. That should be perfect for your enclosure!

Have you the Repti Calcium with D3? If you dust with the Repti Calcium with D3 twice a week, you can use Reptivite with or without D3. Just that Reptivite should be used very sparingly.

Only lightly dust her prey...not like moving snowpeople crickets.

Yeah, it has d3 in it. I use it also for my tokay gecko. My mom stole my other heat lamp so I had to go out and buy anew one and it has a dimmer on it. I have a little brush I'm using to lightly dust the crickets. It seems perfect. She seemed like she was starving when I fed her, but also very entertaining and cute to watch hunt. She literally ate them back to back, ironically they walked right over to her. She tilted her head and BAM. The way she sneaks out from under her rock is adorable. Yeah I'm calling it a her for now aha. The other gecko was actually really mean.

Really don't think so. Probably 1 tile would elevate enough, because usually there is already a small space between the bottom glass and the rim around the cage. What you are doing with the tiles just lets the heat escape. 1/4 to 1/2 half inch from the rim of the tank should work alright for UTH ventilation.

Ah. It has two tiles plus the little stubs that came with the heat mat. Right now the temp on both gauges says 87f and she's crawling around like a little princess
