Abscess on leopard gecko--- help?

His eye by the abscess stays open once he gets it open. His other eye looks very healthy and alert, and opens and closes with no issues. The inside of his mouth is very pink and looks perfect. I'm talking to a vet tomorrow about a payment plan for a surgery :) if I can do that it'd be prefect, I'm so excited. Now my only fear is how rough the surgery will be on him and how rough the recovery will be.

Thanks for this good news. A payment plan is cool.

I send +++ vibes for his surgery AND his recovery.

UPDATE! First thing I do when I wake up every morning is check on Gizmo. This morning I went to him and he's shedding (I've been having to put baby food on his lips for him to lick off since he won't eat- but I'm still offering crickets and meal worms daily) so that's awesome but I also noticed immediately both his eyes are wide open. So I checked the abscess- it seems to be gone! Now there's a small opening where the abscess was. I'll attach a picture. I have an appointment Tuesday (the absolute soonest u could get one) that was recommended by the rescue I consulted and the doc is certified. How do I care for this and keep it clean until it's looked at?would the chlorihexiderm solution be helpful in keeping it clean? Would it sting for him? I'm about to try and put the pic in another comment, it's acting up.

FINAL UPDATE: I took him to the doc. Dr. Spindel at the Animal Ark Vet in Clemmons, NC. He said it looks like Mo's body is healing on it's own and that I just need to keep doing everything I'm doing. He said if it comes back or if it starts to look worse then to call him and schedule what to do next, but he said it WON'T BE SURGERY! I'm so excited. He said Mo's healing and awesome. So happy. Thank y'all for the help.

That's a pretty amazing story about Mo's abcess!

Love hearing happy endings like this.
