Leopard gecko wound

My leopard gecko has this wound on his head. The wound is not bleeding and it looks superficial. What should I do?image.jpg

I'd ignore it, other than watching for infection.

that being said, how/where did he get it? if he has a cagemate that could easily be a bite. or did he rub against something abrasive in his cage with his last shed? that's something I see fairly often in my semi-naturalistic setups and they heal just fine 99% of the time.

I was removing stuck shed with my finger and my nail scratched him because he jostled around. Do I use antibiotic ointment? Will it heal? What are signs of infection?

Signs of infection: Redness, warm to the touch, green/yellow pus.

You can use antibiotic ointment WITHOUT pain reliever if you want. I would use a wet Q-tip next time to remove the skin and gently massage it.

that happens with my leo's tail, the skin fall off, I give it extra calcium and vitamin, and add some nutrion-rich-food, it is healing up real quick! Hope that helps.

As others have stated, just keep an eye on it. It should heal just fine on it's own. It doesn't look aggravated.
I would also recommend using a damp q-tip to help ease off stuck shed instead of anything sharp or abrasive.
I'd continue your normal routine.
Do you have a warm moist hide in the enclosure to aid with shedding?

When it comes time for shedding, I would spray heavier in the moist hide to create more humidity. It usually helps mine get his skin off much easier if I bump it up.

I do the same as Jess. I usually spray my moist hide about once a week. However, when I notice my leopard gecko going into shed, I bump up the humidity in there for her.

If you guys looked closely, there is a red streak beside the pink wound. That is part of the cut. The wound is getting paler and the red streak is gone. Is that a sign of healing or infection?

My leopard gecko has no redness and has no pus. Heis warm, but that is probably due to him spending most of his time in the warm hide.

Yeah the wound on the nose looks like it's healing wonderfully.
If a gecko drops it's tail, it may take a long time for it to grow back/heal.
Do you have a picture of the tail?
