I am so excited!!!
I've just had my first ever AFT hatch out....I've bred leos, pictus, stenos and more before but I never managed to get to the AFT egss before my female stomped them into a mulch!
This time I did and 58 days later.....a baby!!!
Yippeee!!!
Also, one point, it may also be proof of the theory that some of the bigger breeders have about the skunk stripe morph not being completely recessive - the mother is a skunk stripe, the father is a normal - the baby has a clear stripe through the head, I don't think this is a standard feature of normal fattail hatchlings is it??

Stripe

I'm not real sure but the pictures I've seen of hatchling stripes are all like that, the stripe gets bolder as the gecko gets older. maybe by about three or four months it will be all down the back and tail. Hope I'm right, anyway your baby is adorable!

Healthy looking one.

What temps did you incubate that egg at? I have four eggs, which are looking good still, but they are in the incubator for more then 2 months, to be precise like 70+ days... I will, ofcourse, let them be in there, but it is quite strange...I heard from Brain that some of his were hatching always after 80 days...but my temps were about 27-28 degrees.

Incubated at 29 to 30 degs for 58 days. I think they can take an awful lot longer even just by lowering the temps by 1 or 2 degrees.. Humidity was quite high - about 90%.
Does look leo-ish doesn't it:)

congrads, he does look a little leo-ish but the way the morphs are going they'll look like everything sooner or later

I had the same experience with stripes. My male is a stripe, the female is not (though I don't know her genetics). Two of the 4 AFT's I hatched are stripes. Their stripes also started out just around the head and have been getting bigger.

Three of my AFT's hatched out at 72 days at 82 degrees F. The fourth hatched (at about the same temps) at 65 days.

Lol, you have a little stripey there! Out of 6 healthy hatchlings, half of mine have the stripe. Mum is the striped in my case, and Dad is the normal, so I'm thinking maybe the stripe s co-dominant?
Grats on the hatchling! How many eggs did you get and how many more to go for hatching?
