my male breeder's croach is bloody help

I was cheacking on my breeders this morning and I found a little blood on the sides of one of my males, it's not a lot it's just a faint bit of dryed blood I cleaned it up with a wet cloth just wondering if this has happend to anyone else? any other segestions?

As long as nothing is sticking out of him he's probably fine and you did the right thing. Just keep an eye on him.

Many geckos perform breeding with agressional displays. The male usually bites the neck of the female to make her more submissive during breeding. Even in docile domesticated geckos, males will want to react aggressively towards other geckos. It is a natural procedure, but if you see the gecko with a bunch of little sores or cuts you should probably remove it from the cage. The line between hormones and just plain aggression is hard to see, but if you feel that your gecko is truly threatened. You should deffinitely remove it.

the male that had the croatch issue and his girl have breed before this is there 3rd breeding season and I've seen them getting it on and compared to other groups the two of them are extremly gentel with one another. I did seperate them but not becase I thoght they were being aggresive. I thoght he's starting to get to old he's 5 1/2 I know he's not that old but he's had a LOT of kid's I used to have him with 4 females and he was knocken them all up! I was thinking maybe it time for him to retire and keep it in his pants?

did u breed him with a female the day before? if so he could have bled then. it happened to my male, immediately after he started bleeding.

I don't know I keep them together from january-late september. I'd guess not because the female is VERY gravid(any day now):biggrin:. and he tends to leave her alone when she's as fat as she is. He don't like the fatties I guess? he's seem's fine now though I'll keep him seperate for a couple of week's till I fell safe putting him back.

u should not have kept them together whn she is/was graivd. it can cause stress on her part because the male can be temped to try and bred with her again. whn that happened to my male he got a nasty infection, if you see him not eating or drinking and becoming lethargic take him to the vet immediately!
