Well, I stopped by a reptile show last weekend and found a vendor who had done a bad deal with me several years ago. To make up for it, he offered me a pair of leaftails. What may be surprising to some is that I actually declined a pair of phantasticus, and instead went with a pair of sameiti. I kept sikorae in the past, but not sameiti. The decision was mostly for convenience, it's about an hour drive to the nearest pet store if I wanted to get small crickets for phantasticus. These guys easily take large crickets. I look forward to hydrating and fattening up this pair, and who knows...it may just be a small start to a decent collection again.

Anyway, the female is a real stunner. She looked dull for the first couple of days, but I didn't realize she was preparing to shed. After she shed, I caught a glimpse of her in full beauty.

The male isn't quite as stunning, but is in better shape than the female.

It sure is good to be back!

Wow!!! i love those!! look at those colours on her !! she is amazing!, and he is nice to i bet when es blending in!!! i hope to pick up some of these lovelys at the germany hamm show in september 09 , i currently have one male satanic and 2 male henkelis plus other reps too , im trying to find some girls for my uroplatus geckos at the moment !!, hope i find some as nice as your two !!! good luck with them, post some more pics of there enclosure and stuff!!.

Ha! Good for you Mike. Good to see ya back on the dark side. My female was a good animal. Very aggressive towards food. I kept her with a pair of U.s.sikorae for a while as well, without any confrontational problems.

Was it at the Columbia show? I wanted to get a table there to get rid of some golddusts...most likely trade. I have to hold off on the geckos for a minute though because my brother gave me four adult Captive Hatched Mellers Chameleons.

Joe - Yea I got them at the Columbia show, but I saw your brother has been having troubles getting a table at local shows anyway. that sucks. which of your leaftails do you still have?

Well, I currently have 2.2 Henkels and 2.1 satanics. A guy owes me .1 satanic...supposedly next week. I have had my one male for 6 or 7 years, and the other male for almost 4 yrs. I picked up a couple females for them finally. The one is gravid, but I am positive they are infertile.

My female sameiti is in the "Autopsy" section of my photo album... if that says anything. I bought her at that show from G&G Rodent supply. If I am not mistaken, you picked up a male Mossy from the same table earlier in the show. She had no tail and was in real bad shape when I bought her. She came around and I had her for a long time, up until the date on those photos.
