Gecko Shedding Sequence

SO saw Neko was starting a shed and thought I would post some before-during-after pics. Still waiting for the after pics as of yet

Here's the after pics of Neko's shed. I think she looks brighter already! Interestingly enough, you can see the lil' Mack Snow is starting a shed! I have yet to come up w/a name for it (not 100% on the sex yet), maybe Flower if a girl, and Finnigan (Finn) if a boy. I may be separating them today, as I think Neko could put on more weight.

When I first got Loki (the one in the picture) his bands were lavender and he was just starting to get his spots. You'll see yours go through a similar phase. It's very interesting!

Actually I think he/she's doing the lavender phase at right now. If you look at the bands, they were black yesterday, and today, they're lavender outlined in black. It's very pretty..

They are purple, surrounded by black. It's not that this gecko is "lavender" at all- it's a Mack Snow. Mack snows are born with solid black banding or stripes (etc.) that gradually lighten to purple with black banding/spots, then white with black spots. Sometimes the original white the gecko was born with can turn light yellow. So you end up with a white or near-white (light yellow) gecko with black spots. It would be really cool to get Mack Snow lavenders though, hmmm...

This is what I meant by lavender bands when I was talking about Loki (Picture is from the breeder I adopted him from.) He's changed so much I can hardly believe it!

It won't be long before yours looks like that.

Here's some more photos. Last week apparently turned out to be a sheddy week. lol. Here's Sproket and Athena before, during and after their sheds (I think Sprocket looks like she has a farmer's tan!).
OH! And Athena is officially out of quarantine, so she is now Sprocket's roommate (and they're best buddies). Notice Athena is even eating while she sheds, hehe.
