Hey guys!

So, theres this blind leo at my local pet shop. No one seems to want him as he's been sitting there for about a year :( I keep telling myself that I cant afford another...but I just cant leave him there any longer! He need's spoiling!! lol! So...just in case I just happen to change my mind  how would you go about caring for a blind leo? Does anyone have any tips or suggestions?

Thanks!

Maybe on a screened cage so it doesn't hurt him if he runs into a wall. Put him in a water bowl ever night. As for feeding you will have to force feed him. Also make big hides like cave and NOT skinny hides. He will feel the temperature so he will go to the warm/cool side if he needs too. Other than that take care of him like any other Leo. And he was a the Petstore for a year! If they can take care of him that long so can you. Let me know if you are going to buy him. That is so sad:(

Seems like you shouldn't need to force feed him if he has been blind for a year at the pet shop, well unless they are doing but if its like most pet shops they probably are not. But they should be able to tell you if they have been doing any thing special for him, if not then you shouldn't need to do much more then the norm, I wouldn't think.

Set up the cage and keep it the same so it can find its way around. Try not to put things against the sides so it can walk along the sides of the tank. As said above, I imagine that if it's survived a year in a pet shop it is able to eat on its own. Find out all you can about how it is eating on its own (what they feed it and where they put it), or if they are feeding him find out how they're doing it. THere are other people raising blind geckos and they are doing quite well.
