Hello everyone Im sure im jus being paranoid but my juve leo did not eat last night and ever since last tuesday he has eaten everyday and this morning he just pooped right now but only a tiny bit of poop and then the normal bit of calcium at the end.

So im wondering will they not eat when they are about to shed? I have some pictures i just took if anyone can take a look an see if he looks to be shedding or about to shed.

pooping = eating im sure he will be just fine

the white part of the poop isnt calcium, its actualy urine, but that is normal for it to be dried like that. im sure your baby will do just fine.

It's common for a leo not to eat if it's about to shed. I wouldn't worry. Unless he doesn't eat after the shed, then maybe. But he looks good to me and I wouldn't worry.

oh yeaaa i do i just forgot to put it back in there i jus did a little remodeling that empty tile place was filled but i took it out an im gooing to use that to put the mealworms for mel mel to eat em as he pleases. I purchased some air dry clay. Would that be safe to use it says it dries and hardens.

I agree w/Holly, you should put a little dish of calcium in there, growing leos will eat some if they need it. I keep a calcium dish, and a vitamin dish in my enclosures. If your temps are good (70s on cool end, high 80s to 97 on warm end), then I wouldn't change anything.

Sasobek, I noticed you said its normal for urine to be dry...what if its not? Is it okay either way? Soco took his first poop today and on the paper towel its sitting on a very small spot of dried urine that was obviously wet when it came out. Is all okay?

That's fine. They're sopping wet when they first come out. Lol. I've only seen mine poo once, and I was disturbed. But they dry out quickly.

still not eating tonite :( but he is a much duller color with a purpler tint to it so i believe he will shed fairly soon.

You may see him go through a whitish stage right before he sheds (sometimes hours before, sometimes minutes..) here's Athena all white.

Ya, SoCo wasnt hungry last night either. I'll try him again tonight though and see if a nice fat waxworm tickles his fancy.

Noodles - Thanks for finally posting a pic of a leo getting ready to shed. Everybody talks about how they look, but no one actually shows it!! That REALLY helps. Thanks again.
