So this weekend I'm going to a reptile show and fully intend on bringing home a gecko or two I have two ten gallon tanks ready and waiting for leopard geckos. Now I've never bought any geckos from these things and was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of how much a mack snow or similar morph should cost? I want to know how much to bring. Thanks ahead of time :)

I'd bring as much as you can. I have seen leos at the shows here in FL going anywere from $15 to $1000. It all depends on the morphs and who the breeder is and the age of the leo. I ended up with a pair of stunning leos at a show a few months ago and got them for around $85 because they were only a few weeks old and the breeder I got them from, as luck would have it, lives down the street from me and I showed him photos of the babies now that they are almost full grown and he said he could have sold them for upwards of $600 and if wished he hadn't sold them. I got really lucky. But the adult leos from breeders who worked mainly with geckos and not with like balls and stuff, they were selling the adults for a nice amount. Between the 2 shows I have been to i have spent over $600-but only a little on the geckos and more on like reptile racks, live food, and similar stuff. In fact I need to put some money aside for the big Daytona show thats coming up in a few months!!
and just cuz i wana show off my babies, here are the 2 that grew up to be soo pretty

Spore is a now visual sexed male from sunglow lines, he is het tremper albino

Speed Racer is a tremper albino with a nice little stripe running partly on her back-and I almost didn't get here..I asked the breeder if there was anything I should take home along with the male and he pointed her and her sister out..I liked her and he talked me into it and Im SOO glad he did :)

have fun at the show and try not to bring Everything home hehe oh and take more then just a 10gal if you plan on getting more then 1 gecko. I suggest plastic critter keepers or tupperware.

Shopping for geckos at shows is fun. I recommend you go through the entire show and look at all the leopard geckos. Some of the very cheap ones are not of good quality, and, while there are great deals, to a certain extent you get what you pay for. I also recommend you avoid tables where there is a great variety of reptiles and only 1 or 2 leopard geckos. Often the seller doesn't know much about them and ended up taking them in trade or something. I'm sure there are exceptions to this, though. Have fun.

Look at the leo classified on kingsnake.com. That will give you a good idea of "market value". That's about what you should expect at a show. Never be afraid to haggle with the breeders though.

The show near me is coming up end of June in San Diego. I have almost 500 saved, but I'd say bring what you can.
