Torn between which light to use?

Hey everyone, i have been using the exo terra sunglo at 40 w and it seems fine but i have been reading that it gives off too much uv rays .

so i also have a regular desk light that i can put on top with a normal 100w bulb you would use everyday for your lamp or room light, but it seems way too bright. Or should i not use a light at all and jus turn my room light on for night an day cycle.

thanks!
heres some pics. ok first one is the desk light which i feel is way too bright. Second is the exo terra sun glo which i have been using an seems ok and i have a plastic cover over the light to help stop the uv rays if that helps. Third is the actual light fixture im using for the exo terra sun glo. fourth is basically same as second one just without the metal screen cover.

I honestly think they're not necessary. If your room has a window then they'll have a cycle no matter what. I use a 75w red bulb for heat. I have a window. If you think you need it, then you need something way less bright.

I also have the exo terra night glo but i have not been using it. Would that be safe to use for my leopard gecko at night or 24/7 if i need more heat source?

thanks

thanks Allee i think im going to ditch the sun glo and stick with the night glo bulb and jus keep my shades back for light to shine in.

thanks!

When you need a new bulb, get a red one. Leos can't see red and it has a wider heat range that you can easily see. :)

Don't do the sunglo at all. just crack your blinds. use the red bulb 24-7. it saves electricity and works just as good.
