hi i'm looking at getting my first leo's 2f/m i was just wondering if a tank size 36X18X18 is big enough or should i go bigger, also i understand the concern with using sand on the floor so want to keep away from that, so can you use woodchip as flooring.

idk about the wood chips but the tank is a 50 gallon(by the measurements you put) which is plenty big. the rule for the right size of a tank is. how ever many gecko + 1 X 10. so 2(geckos)+1 X 10=30. i use paper towels as my flooring easiest and safest thing to use

Throw it in the washer and dryer to clean.

I recently started using this clay, to make sure it was ingestable I put a spoonful in a glass of water and stirred. It all dissolved. When you mold it, let it sit over night to dry. It dries hard. Looks natural too and my lovelies enjoy it.

That is a great sized tank for them, plenty of room. The reptile carpet doesn't suck too bad if you have two of them to swap out when you clean. Also, wood chips are worse in my opinion than sand for impaction, I would use tile or repti-carpet.

I would suggest starting with 2 females or just 1 male or female, so you can get used to them without worrying about taking care of eggs or offspring. It seems a little hasty to me to jump from first pet of that species straight into breeding conditions. But that's just me.

allee toller, is that excavator sand you used? I used it with hermies. It dies your geckos skin red and is very hard to remove...

I've had it over a week and have yet to see any problems. And it's a light brown color, wouldn't that turn them both brown. I can see a potential if it's wet, my nails were brown when I was done. But there's no way it can be wet. Their water bowl is on the slate circle I built into it for easier heat. And did you make it into clay, I can see a potential if it's loose.

I have the clay in one of my tanks as well, and I definitely approve of it, it hardens like a rock, but is removable and moldable, and misting it every once and a while will keep it from getting particulate-ey.
If you get the correct clay it won't stain their bellies, mine have been on it for months now and they are still pale underneath.

I thought it was sand! It looks like a reddish brown bag of sand with a cave on the front and says Excavator.

It's $4 at LLL. Kahoots sells it for $8 and Petsmart sells it for $9.
