Sorry my pictures are so horrible looking. I just cleaned the tank, and took some pictures for you. It's hard to tell, and the pictures does the tank NO justice. It's really good looking in person. Lol. The clay has rocky indents in them, and a smooth surface, kind of like slate does.
I have my UTH in the middle since I have a 20 long. Both sides are 80-82F and the middle is 91-95F. With the clay, you're not suppose to have a UTH under it because it'll make the UTH over heat, I haven't experienced it, even when I DID have the UTH under it for nearly a month, but since my "cool" side would go below 60F at night, I decided to make the middle where the UTH is, so the gradient would be properly maintained. As an added safety precaution (because of the "possible" overheating with clay and UTH) I removed clay in the middle, and placed a slab of slate. Where the slate is is where the UTH is. Potential problem solved.
My decorations are driftwood, tons of rocks, and fake cacti. Ignore the strawberry. My special needs refuses to sleep anywhere else. She's had that strawberry since she was 3 weeks old. It's her life. Lol.
I also have other hides, but they're being cleaned right now. They don't look good in them, they're just upside down bowls and such. Lol. My two sleep under the logs and in the strawberry.
edit* The tank as a whole. Lol.
