Personally , I recommend the Exo terra cave. It is made of plastic and it is empty inside. So it acts like a isolant and keep the hide fresher than the temp of your terra. The styrofoam thing looks really nice tho. and a little cheaper too ( the cave was 34 $ ). But it really depends of what type of foam it is. If its the cheap kind, It could use over time and if small parts of it comes off and your geckos eat them. Bad !. styrophoam cant get digested so it will get stuck in the geckos stomach. If you can take a look and take it to figure out if it will use over time before buying it, Let us know

Here's a tip, use a fork instead of a knife. It makes it WAAYY easier to carve. ;]

Sand paper is also pretty good if it's loose styro
or just for making some edges rounder ?

can you post some pictures of your terra and gecko ? I really like to see other terra so it gives me some ideas on how to make mine looks better.

If you can make your own, Go for it ! It looks awesome and most of all , It will be Unique and will be Exactly what you want.
I might try to make one soon. I am not really good in building things but who know , Maybe with some patience , interest and LUCK it will looks great :fight:

i went into my basement to get a picture of the tank i'm up grading to but it was piled up at the very back so i will probably make a new thread when i pull it out to get some ideas for the new tank for my self (by the time i get it out this thread will be way back i'll try and find this thread and post it here if i can or it will be in the DIY section)

Nice Allee, you have the same cave than me exept your is bigger .
They must play Hide & seek with the crickets at feeding time Lots of things but it looks good.Do they go in the Hammock ? I have never seen one of thoses before. I would like to see a better pic of your geckos if you get the occasion , They looks really nice.

The cave is actually pretty small at 8-9 inches long. My babies are a 1 1/2 year old dwarf, and a 3 1/2 month old. Lol.

Giovanna, the yellow one, spends about 80% of her time on the hammock. The super snow in the picture is Liam. I bought him for a friend, so he's no longer with us. Lol. These are old tank set ups. I don't have any new pictures of them on the hammock in my current set up. They love the cave for now.

I have the same Pet climber ( yellow metal thing ) for my hermit crab.
Btw where did you got your hammock ? If they like it that much i want one for my tank
If your cave is 8-9 inches long it is about the same size than mine i think. I have a Medium one.
Is it a Exo Terra reptile Den ?

It's exo-terra's cave. I got the hammock online on eBay for $6. I use the ladder for hermits for the hammock, if you have a hide that they can climb on top of, they can get on the hammock from there. I just added the ladder because the new baby was still too little to reach the top. Now the ladder is down, since she's big enough to reach it herself.

My geckos get whatever they want. If they climb a plant at the pet store, and I can't get them out, I buy the plant and put it in their tank. Lol.

Btw how much a Leo Gecko cost in usa ? Here the pet shop ( Pat valu ) Didnt have any lizard in stock so i had to order it. It Cost me 99.99 + Tx. So about 113$.
The pet shop is at 45 min of car from my house and i had fo find a ride to go there. I found a ride but Surprise ! The gecko wasnt shipped, So the girl called and she was really mad a them ! The next day they received it and the owner and the girl came to my house to give it to me I was SOOOOO happy

OMG ! Lol but i think they cost so much here because i live far from any Big town in canada. In quebec the big town is Montreal , But i am at 9 hours of car from there so its probably the shipping that makes them so expensive.

where i am in canada they just about $100 but there are breeders that live a couple of hours away like mynewturtle.

there are hammocks at my local petsmart but i dont know how much they are.
