How Many? :)

So i know many people feed their Leos a couple times a day, maybe once a day, maybe every other day, I dont know.

Let us know what you feed, and how much you feed your leo on an average day.

My leos shall arrive soon, I just want to get some ideas on how to schedule their diets :)

All the best to all your Reppies :)

Hatchlings and juveniles under 40 grams: every day, once a day

Adults:
every other day during breeding season (about Mar-AUg) except every day for female who have just laid eggs and keep staring at the feeders when I'm feeding the babies

every 3 days not during breeding season

in some cases, not for about 6 weeks between about mid-November and Jan. if they choose to brumate (sleep, but not as deeply as hibernation) themselves at this time.

And do you feed them coated crickets every feed? Or something else?

And when do you consider your Leo and adult. Mine will be about 5 months, will they be able to handle an adult diet by now?

The hatchlings I breed get mealworms exclusively to make it easier for potential buyers to feed. The adults get crickets and superworms. I go by weight and behavior rather than by age. If your young gecko is still eating hungrily every night, then it probably needs to be fed every night. If it's not seeming that hungry, cut back to every other night. As the weather gets colder it may eat less and then every 3rd night is OK.

I feed hatchlings and juvies 5-6 prey daily, crickets, roaches, and mealworms.

Adults get fed crickets or roaches every other day during the breeding season with 24/7 mealworms available, with daily feedings for post-egg laying females for 5-10 days after laying depending on weight loss. they get 8-10 prey items per feeding.

During the off season I feed 3x a week, 10 prey per adult.

I alternate prey during the off season, crickets, then mealworms, then roaches.

Probably going to dump crickets and go completely to roaches once roach colonies have reached critical mass, they're just easier to deal with.

I gut load all prey but I never dust, I simply provide suppliment in dishes 24/7, the geckos take what they need.

Adult size is better calculated by weight than age. 35-40 grams is adult. At 5 months, I would classify that as a juvie, most leos reach adult size by 9-12 months of age.

Wow, thanks alot guys, just what I was looking for. I'll try to regulate their diet kind of like yours, Rex and see how that works out.

Thanks everyone :)
