What temperature would be the best for the warm side

of an adult leopard geckos cage for the the heating pad. :shock:

And what temperature would be the best for the warm side

of an adult leopard geckos cage for the the heat lamp. :shock:

And the warm side of the cage for a basking area. :shock:

Your floor temps should remain anywhere from 90-95 degrees give or take a few degrees. Ambient (air) temps should stay around 90. Temp guns are great to have for ths reason. They don't bask, so you don't need to worry too much about that. All they need is a cool side and a warm side.

Well actually air temps don't need to stay at around 90. As long as your house isn't ridiculously cold, a heat lamp isn't even needed.

Leopard Geckos are very territorial. You MUST have 2 hides for each, 1 warm and 1 cool for each gecko you have, or at least a few very large hides so they have space. I fit 4 actual hides in my 40 gal tank and two are very large (I have 2 geckos) and I also have a covering of leaves they can hide in too. They really like the setup, and the two are happy as ever together.

Most females will get along. I keep two herem setup in which there 1.2 in a 30 gallon breeder tank. My girls are consistanly laying on each other, and I've never experienced any aggression with my girls. Now what will not get along is two males. I strongly urge you to make sure of the sexes. And even so, I have not experienced this but I have heard of what's called a HOT FEMALE a female that is aggressive, generally they are not accepting of any cage mate male or female and refuse to breed bc of the aggresivnes. I haven't ever hatched out a hot girl so I've never experienced this myself. If they appear to not get along for any reason separate. Anyways I hope this helps.

Thank you! im finding it hard to figure out...inside aquarium. i have the tupperware with moss inside at one end. i have a cactus with hide on top of that which they have found. i have a coconut half insort of the middle of aquarium and then a big half log on the other end with under pad heating which they seem to share most of the time. im workng on a new set up...;-)

The HOT FEMALES are females that were incubated at a very hot temperature, around 34C (94F) and they are unfertile, territorial and agressive, they usually are very bright colored, there is also a theory that indicates that a normal female can become a Hot Female is she is fed with too much protein (for example pinky mice), they also become territorial and agresive, if you have ahot female you would probably have to house her separately from other geckos....

Wow my honeys have taken a huge break from eating...How do you feed geckos that wont eat anymore. Its been like three days they just look at the worms walking right by them...blink and dont seem interested. Is it a temp thing? I switched to undertank heating all they do is sleep now! haha. I may go back to ceramic heater. what do you suggest? anyone?

Our leo has done the same for the last week. Mostly ignores her food, and just sleeps in her moist hide. As long as they have a fat tail it should be fine. Just make sure they have water, maybe put a couple mealworms in a bowl for them at night when they are more active and let them sleep.
