i was confused when I bought, what is the diff between having d3 and no d3? what the point?

why do you need both? Keep it just laying in the tank??? im confused?
Vitamin D3 is essential in reptiles that do not receive UV lighting. Essentially vitamin D3 aids in the absorption of calcium. Without it the animals body can not use all the calcium and it starts building up. The key to everything is balance. There are a lot of good supplement products on the market but everyone has their own way of doing things.

Personally I use either Rep-cal or Repashy calcium plus. I have been using the Repashy calcium more lately as it's an all in one supplement and much easier to use. If you are still confused on mixing the supplements and when to do it go with the calcium plus.

Also I highly recommend all of you reading an article that Allen Repashy wrote on calcium, phosphorous, and vitamin D3. It has a lot of good info on this subject although it might be a little technical in some parts.

I like it. I haven't had any problems with reptivite. Most of the zoo curators that I have spoke with use it as well. I know San Diego Zoo uses it and Santa Barbara Zoo also uses it.

I have never used Reptivite but it is a good quality supplement. It has been around for some time and was Zoo Meds first product back in 1984.

I went to the pet store the other day to get calcium without d3 to put in his tank. All of the the calcium I saw had instructions for dusting the crickets. Is that the same stuff you put in the tank, or is there something specificaly for use in the tank?
I would really like to find a calcium block to put in his tank, it seems less messy but I didnt see anything like that at the stores I went to.

That really depends on whats in it. If it doesn't have D3, then yes, use it in the tank. If it does, then dust insects with it(I'd follow Allee's schedual, I use pretty much the same one). Don't bother with a calcium block, it won't work. It needs to be in dust form.
