Oh no, a dropped tail

If she dropped her tail recently then do not breed her. Wait until her tail is fully grown back. During breeding/egg laying they use fat stored in their tail for energy and live off it, if there's no fat then the gecko will lose a horrid amount of weight and make it much more stressful on her body.

She dropped her tail on March 17 so I will either wait till next season if it doesn't grow back in time.

My gecko must be really hard. She had a half log in her tank and it slipped and landed on her tail, she didn't drop it. She has had two bouts of major surgery in the past month, laid eggs a month before that and i rescued her from some horrible people too. She is still very much intact, but maybe a bit skinny after the surgery.

EVen if that geckos tail did regen decently quick, I would still hold out breeding her until next season. Only looking out for the momma!

Make sure to keep it clean as well, keep her off sand (if you use it) .
I have a gecko who I rescued as well and her tail dropped long before I had her. The actual tail regeneration has stunted her growth. She is so tiny, so I can't breed her, and the other gecko has had major surgery on her abdomen, so she won't be bred any more either.

It's a snow tremper.

I will because I need a different male for her just in case she's het Bell or Rainwater. The male is the Tremper strain.
