Baby grandis not eating. Suggestions?

Hey everyone. I recently bought a P.M. Grandis a few days ago and haven't been able to get it to eat anything. I know most new geckos won't eat for a few days after a move, but its been since Saturday and I've tried crickets, cgd, and a fruit mix with a calcium mixed in. I was thinking about trying fruit flies, but the last time I used those, my house got infested with them.... Took forever to get them gone. So.... Any suggestions?

More time. They will eat when they are hungry. Fruit flys are useless for grandis.
Do you have a basking light on it?

I don't have a basking light yet. I am finishing up a 10 gallon vert for it and for now, its in a large KK with a cfl and dome reflector directly on top of the cage. Also has a schefflera in with it and some sphagnum moss. How could I provide a basking light without compromising the KK... Or will it be ok with out on for the next 2 or 3 days? Been rushing to get the tank done, but I have 1 thing that held me up from finishing it yesterday.

The lack of heat is probly your problem. He will be fine for a few days. I would also get rid of the spagnum and replace it with a more soil base substrate. Crickets tend to hide in the spagnum.

Will do. I'll put some of the soil I'm putting in the bottom of the 10 gallon. Since the two tanks are about the same volume, what wattage and type of light should be used for the basking light?

I use halogen puck lights on a dimmer. grandis can take basking spots of 90-100F without a problem. For a 10 gallon I would recomend a 25-40 watt bulb.

Honestly, I would have NO substrate until I noticed it eating solid food...

Dab some babyfood on its snout with an eyedropper...this should work...

As long as the enclosure is decently warm, he doesnt really need a basking spot.

The little plastic cage is too small to have a hot spot. Although I prefer to keep baby geckos in cages that are smaller rather than larger...

About the length of my index finger. So 2.5 to 3 inches tops.

I got the puck light and dimmer. I also got a timer so i dont have to swith it on and off manually. He seem sto like it so far, so I'll see how it goes. my concern now is temps. with the dimmer at half power, its sitting at about 88*F. I can move everything to a cooler part of the house if need be though.
