Hello all,

My name is Alex and I just wanted to stop in and say hello to the board. I'm getting my first Leo this weekend and I'm really excited about it. I'm purchasing it from a previous owner who can no longer afford the time needed to care for it. The Gecko, which I have chosen to rename Balboa, is coming with a really nice 20 gallon set up complete with heating lights, hides.....the works.

I'm looking forward to spending time here and engaging in some Gecko chat. So far I've been just looking around the forum and the rest of the web looking at all kinds of Gecko related things. I think I've found a pet/hobby for life.

Good to hear that you have perhaps found a hobby for life. Many of us have, and we have chosen the "noble" gecko :banana:!

I hope that you have located the leopard gecko subforum. Check out the stickies at the top which offer substrate advice and FAQs. I strongly recommend paper towels or tile for leopard geckos for their first year of life or the first year of ownership at least.
