Question on hides/viv decorations

I was at the local Petsmart the other day looking at reptile hide and decorative type pieces. You know, the usual stuff, castles, dinosaur skulls, this that and the other.

My question is, should I consider most any type accessory of this nature to be safe for a leopard gecko? I would only be concerned that perhaps some items could be too rough thus putting them at a risk of hurting themselves. I was at one point considering beta fish and i was warned repeatedly against certain textures, so its just made me a bit paranoid.

I was thinking of putting this in another section, but I figured it was better here since its relative to the skin condition specific to that of a Leo.

Any info and suggestions and the like would be greatly appreciated.

You can't go wrong with Exoterra hides and decoration. Its not recommended to have branches as they are not good climbers and they can get their feet trapped in the nooks and crannies on the branches.

Magnaturals are a nice idea to create levels in your enclosure (not to high tho!)

I had a polystyrene backdrop which my geckos loved to climb, but took it away because of the risk of falling and hurting themselves

Accessories with some roughness are actually a good idea since the geckos need something to rub against when they're shedding. If you get Reptile Magazine, there has been a coupon from Petsmart for the last 3 months for $5 off a product made by "All Living Things". I've used the last 3 coupons to get myself 3 water bowls which have cost about $1 each.

Thanks for the awesome help guys. I figured that a little rough texture would be helpful for shedding and such, I just wanted to make sure. Thanks again guys.

another idea is too also look in the fish section they sometimes have some nice decorations that you can use for a gecko (tho sometimes you have to make some modifications to make it safe.)
