Hello, im a young 19 years old fella from Finland, got my first lizard 4 months ago, a leopard gecko named Rauno

Now recently 3 weeks ago i received Lygodactylus Williamsii 1.2 that ive had a quite struggle with, mites, shedding and unusually sized calcium sacks, or sacks in general.

Ive graduated as a paper process "handler" and currently working on a paper factory, on my spare time i play video games, hang out with friends, and take care of my reptiles!

Hello ~

A hearty welcome to Geckos Unlimited! You have just discovered the very best gecko forum on the worldwide web :yahoo:! Good to have you on board. Thanks for sharing things about you.

Sounds like your gecko addiction has just begun. Were you able to get the mite situation with your 1.2 Lygodactylus williamsi under control? Sounds like they were WC geckos.

Im spraying them tomorrow as i can observe them, today im rather busy as im out of town, it should work its confirmed in many sources this should help aslong as i make sure they dont drink it, ie. scare them around when they go for licks

2 of them are from Sweden, and one of em is from German, all CB (09 most likely, first eggs a while back)

the mites came from a feeding gecko to the previous owner

He thought he had em taken care of, but apparently some we're left in this tank

Also ordered a bugspray meant for reptiles from Reptilica

This Animed medicine can probably just used once due its strong effect, and theres no certain information how long it remains in the terrarium, the longer the better, after all the mix is so mild that basicly it could be good that it stayed on non-leaf parts where it coldnt been ingested by the geckos

Will talk at sunday about the results at the topic meant for it :)

Thanks for your concern

Sincerely, Mikko

Hi Mikko ~

Good to hear that you have found a treatment for the mites. I know how fast Lygodactylus williamsi can be. How in the world do you keep them from licking the droplets when you spray??

Will search your posts to see where your mite post is...Pests & Diseases?

Yeah just did the "poisoning now", doze of the poison got ****ed as i injected the whole needle to the water accidentally, (was a 2ml needle and was supposed to use 1ml of it to 0.5 liters of water, so i just poored some of the water & poison mix out and more water into it, probably is milder then it should be but oh well, rather milder then deadly)

And i did a plan of my own, i sprayed em a bit before bed time, and poked them around to their hiding holes, now they are sleeping and the mites are gasping for air hopefully, will see tomorrow...

seems that the females definately gravid so had to do it now, cuz i doubt the eggs would make it through the poison

EDIT: Posts are at the Lygodactylus forums (Other geckos)

Hi Frinta ~

I can just visualize those mites "gasping for air"! Ha, ha, ha! Hopefully the geckos are OK. Good that you caught your error before it was too late! I like your plan to spray the gex last night to give them a drink, so hopefully they were NOT thirsty when you did the mite spray.

Good luck with the treatment.

Thanks for the "redirect" to the "Other Geckos" subforum.
