I was giving the day geckos some baby food today as a treat so i thought i'd take some pics. Not sure why, but the bamboo looks pretty dirty in the pics. Its no where near as bad as it looks in real life lol. Hope you like! :)

That s one reason but in the case of Pono's ornata it was the Mauritian sun. Im pretty sure his male is wc. I breed ornatas several years and even if you keep then outside during summertime their colours stay more pastel colored.

i use a 5% or 7% uv tube coupled with a bright tube with a high CRI and colour temp etc.

I dont think this male is wc. I have another male who i suspect to be wc for he is very shy and not particularly interested in crickets. I cannot say for sure whether the male pictured is not wc, but i think he is cb.

oh man those are SICK!!! are cepediana as really difficult as everyone says?

Cheers. To be honest, i'm not really sure as i haven't had mine long - about a month. I haven't had any real problems yet. Fingers crossed they'll do fine. They are eating and shedding well so that's good. Also, when i first introduced them, i the male chased the female around a bit but he caught her and i think they mated so fingers crossed :)

nicee!!! hope fully they have babies for you :)

I had to separate the cepe pair this week as the male beat up the female rather badly and now she has a large gash across her back :(

She is doing ok now though.

No, i had a look today and the male does not have an orange underside of his tail. It is greeny/yellow - the same colour as his belly ;-)

Some cepediana have the red underside to the tail, others don't, even varying between hatchlings from the same parents. Some are orange, others are bright red. It can be both males and females. Tends to have largely disappeared within 12 months. Males tend to hold the colour longer than females (but that might just be my imagination!). There could be a connection between red underside and incubation temperature, with the red coming at higher temperatures, but not something I have looked at in any detail

Great photos :) Phelsumas are so lovely animals :)
Somebody knows what does it mean when Phelsumas are starting making some weird voices? It is like clatter. My lizards recently started and I don't know what's that ^^

Im not exactly sure, but i have heard one of my male ornatas squeaking at the male pasteuri next door aggressivly, and i have also heard my female cepediana sqeak to tell the male to piss off when he's being too 'persistent'

Thank you for information.
Because i have 0.0.3 cepedians (common parents), and only one have red tail from ventral side.
