Hunger Strikes.. Why?

Alright my oldie Commanda has been doing this a lot lately the past two months. She'll eat about 10-15 mealworms then refuse absolutely everything for a whole entire week and a half then decide that she wants to eat again.

She's not loosing weight, she's at about 50-55 grams so she's not fat and she did loose her tail which is now. She is my parcially blind Leo but I don't move the meal dish and she knows where to find it and I make sure to keep something in there, I've also separated my other guy from her to make sure he wasn't hogging all the food (He was at 70 grams and looking a bit like a chunk and is on a diet and is almost back down to 60 the piggy) and nope, she just doesn't want to eat even when I offer them to her *headdesk*.

I'm not too worried since she isn't loosing weight and still in overall heath despite her age. Why do Leos go through these crazy things. Is it with the changing seasons or just with a Leo's personality, I'm just really curious.

well, leo's store fat in their tales as storage. my male will sometimes do the same thing by not eating for a week. well, since your leo is partially blind, she may not realize that food is available. also, leo's eat sometimes even when they aren't hungry to stock up on their fat reserve.

Reasons for hunger strikes/not eating:
Ovulation
Stress
More than enough fat storage
Winter
Food boredom

But honestly... if she's healthy and not losing weight there's no need to worry! Most of mine get a little weird mid November until early February off and on food, and totally inconsistent.

Yeah I'm not worried, more curious than anything since my other thinks he can't get more than enough food.
