New Pet?

Im going to be attending some Ny reptile expos and i love leos and pictus but im leaning towards leos since they are more available in Ny and i want a nice one.
What nice looking leos cost betweens 40-80$ also i see people using tubs now and days can i use a tub?
how big would it need to be and what do you need for the tubs?

Here on the left coast (Oregon) $40 to $80 can get you a nice leo for sure. I always believe in picking not by cost but rather by how alert/active the baby is. Also what you yourself finds attractive. Don't get too caught up in morphs right off.

Tubs are fine and all but more of a breeder style. I would use the 16 and 32 quart for a couple months then step up to a 20 long. I really like using these from LLL Reptile and have 15 of them for all my guys/gals:

They are a shorter in hight than a normal 20 long, but work really nicely for me. Hope this helps out

Tubs are used in racks.
Here's my rack. Built it myself.

Racks are used for breeders/hobbyists with a ton of animals. I didn't switch to racks until I got about 20 geckos. I'm currently downsizing, and will be eventually selling my rack in exchange for a few 20 longs to house my 6 geckos (my goal is to get down to 6, it's been harder than I thought. I'm stuck at 22 right now, down from the 40something not including hatchlings).

You'll have 3 geckos. Use tanks. Keep a few geckos for a year or so and see how you like it. Don't jump into getting a ton, getting rack, then decide in a year it's not what you want. If you decide later one once your first geckos are fully grown that you want more, then get more.

oh ive had geckos and reptiles since i was 13 now im 16 and have had geckos for 1 year and a half but i had to give them away because i had moved to Ny

Just keep in mind leos should live longer than you've been alive at this point! I think everyone here would just like to do their part in making sure you are in it for the long run. A lot of life events happen around your age that would maybe prevent you from having all the geckos you want now in a few years.

Are you thinking about college? What will you do with them when you next move? Just some food for thought!

I am definitely on the side of getting tanks for your collection at this point. Rocsteady, thanks for the info on those cages, I might have to look into them!

Or in my case- Starting a family and heading a center for an 8 center cat rescue. My life is consumed with rescue paper work/vet trips, vaccination records, going to the centers to make sure there's supplies, etc. And it's only going to get more crazy when we bring a baby into it! Oh, and I'm starting college, finally, in the fall on top of all of this. Geckos? I have no time for myself let alone geckos... A year ago I had no idea I'd be doing what I'm doing- but I am. I'll be keeping about 5 or so of them, but I don't have time for the 20 I have left, then to be breeding.

Nice morphs are whatever you like... do you mean expensive morphs? New morphs are very expensive starting out, but in about 5 years they are pretty common.

I am a big fan of the lavender stripes, whether that be in a mack snow, bell albino, etc.
