Just wanted to share with you a little about her story... I first met her exactly one month ago, on april 5th in a trip to Atlanta, she was "for adoption" in a PETCO store... I didn;t know how to get her to my country (Venezuela) but I adopted her... I managed to get her here, and she is recovering... here are some pics from her at the PETCO store (love at first sight :) ) stil in the hand of the Petco salesgirl:

After seeing that I inmediately took her with me, poor thing... so skinny , these are a couple of pics I took the same day in the Hotel I was staying :

Can you see any hint of a morph?? I believe she is just a cute normal leo, but maybe she has some something....

I named her Betty (after Ugly Betty) because she looked hideous! but now I dont want to change her name.... so, she remains just Betty!

She eats very well, her skin has improved 100%, she is very docile and lovable! I still have her quarantined but she is doing great, great apetite (I feed her every day, crickets, mealworms, grasshoppers, vitamins, calcium) nice looking poo also! She was 15 grames when I got her... she is 23 now, and hopefully she'll continue to recover great!! :cheer:

She looks amazing! Your TLC worked wonders. I can't believe how big her tail has gotten in one month, let alone gaining 8 grams. Great job!

Thanks!! I like her very much!! I cant imagine how she lost her tail, because she is very docile, must have been in a fight, but she is a female.... that's strange :scratchhead:

She looks amazing, such a beautiful girl! It's hard to believe she's she same girl from those first photos. You did an unbelievable job at nursing her back to health.

Well done Saskia! I remember you talking about her when you got her. Its amazing how you've managed to get her back to such great health in such a short time! And her tail, I remember looking at her first picture 4 weeks ago and thinking it would grow back really short and stubby. for a regenerated tail it actually doesnt look that bad!!

Yes, well, everytime I look at her I get a warm feeling in my heart, and also she is SUCH a sweetie!! very very docile and relaxed, I can handle her for long periods of time and she never gets nervous, I wish I knew how old she is.... I believe I will end her quarantine now, it's been 60 days, she is in a 11 gallon tank, but I have a 25 gallon tank with just one female, I want to put them together, there are 13 hides there!! hehehe :coverlaugh: I put as many hides as I could so I believe she will be better there!!

Check out this collage I made with her before and after pics:

Great! She looks really bright and happy! But the only thing that puzzled me was how did you take her home from atlanta?

Welllll, that's a funny story! I went to Atlanta on a business/turism trip 2 months ago and I went to a Petco store to shop for some supplies for my other geckos (heat pads, vitamins, etc. that in my country are a bit hard to find) anyways, I was staring at the leos for sale (I didn't intend to buy one) and a salesgirl saw me and asked if I was interested in meeting one gecko they had for adoption :yikes: I said yes and she introduced me to Betty (she was "in the back") I was so sad to see her in such poor condition that I couldn't resist it, and I took her back to my hotel, she was there with me for 2 days, and the day of the trip I put her in a sock, bended it so she couldn't go out and placed her gently in my bra!

As soon as I was passed secutiry I put her back in my purse, and when we arrived to Miami I put her back in my bra... another security checkpoint and another plane to Venezuela, when I left the venezuelan airport the first thing I did was to check her and she was just perfect! I had never done this kind of thing before and I was quite nervous, I had my adoption papers with me in case they would find her they could just take her back, but it didn't happen and she lives in south america now!!! I bet the previous owner wouldn't imagine where she was going to end up in!!

Wow, I love your story of how you got her through. She looks so great now, I never would have imagined just how dramatic the change in all aspects of her appearance would be.
