One of my Mystery Leopard Gecko Eggs Finally Hatched

After a long wait one of Pookie's eggs finally hatched, They were a mystery because we have no idea what the Father's Morph was. Pookie is a blizzard (Mood Gecko - she's changes shade from pale grey to dark purplish black depending on her mood). When we bought her she was already gravid but it must have just happened as she wasn't showing. When we noticed she was gravid I rang the place we bought her from they swore she hadn't been near any other gecko's and there was no way the eggs could be fertile. Luckily we decided to incubate them anyway and I'm so glad we did. She's called Sparkle because of the black dots on her face. I just wish we knew what morph the father was but I guess I'll never find out. She's a real little cutie - she'd just emerged from the shell here and had a bit of vermiculite on her. She's Pink with a yellow tinge and she has little black spots on her face. I hope the second egg hatches soon - I can't wait to see what she looks like.

OMG what a story!! hahahahaha "they swore she hadn't been near any other gecko's and there was no way the eggs could be fertile" hahahaha, well, that baby looks blizzard, but the spots look like Murphy patternless! How great, what an experience!! Good that you incubated them!! Congrats on the new "mistery baby" :coverlaugh:
Have you had hatchlings before? Are you prepared for caring for them?

Yes we've had hatchlings before in fact they are all over my living room at the moment lol. We are creating a dedicated gecko room on our top floor but there aren't any electrical points yet so they are surrounding me at the moment. They're all Normals and Hypo's though and our male had never been near Pookie - he's a big gorgeous Normal.
Thanks for the morph details Saskia she's a bit of a whopper 4 grams our smallest was Tear she was only two grams and had problems walking but she's doing great now. Once the other egg hatches I'll take photos of them both and send them to the place we bought Pookie from

It looks like a blizzard, but the head pattern is odd. More pictures as it continues to grow! :)

Its going to be hard telling when she's shedding as she's so light I'll post another photo when she does though. She's really alert and active even more so than my other hatchlings were. Def a keeper

Most of mine have been around 3 grams but I've had two more that were 4 grams Bowser and Yoshi the parents are both massive though. I guess that they're both going to be big like their parents, I wonder if Sparkle will be too. I'd love to know what her father looked like.

So exiting to see all those pictures. I don't want to deal with taking care of and selling of all the babies, but I would love to breed geckos just to see them newly out of their eggs.

I don't blame you they aren't cheap to keep and I was really planning on selling most of mine but I've grown so attached to them all. It doesn't help that they change after each shed and I love seeing how they all develop. Ayla and Lyssa esp look completely different now than when they were hatched. I love seeing them emerge out of their shells and the suprise of what they'll look like. Today is the first day that there's no incubator hum in the background and its a bit sad. Its lovely having all the little babies though. I really don't think I'm cut out to be a breeder lol.

Here are two photos of Ayla - she's even more yellow now with less spots but I haven't any more recent photos. She was named Ayla after the circle on her back which is rapidly fading lol.

I wonder if the unknown father was a snow enigma or something in that basic area. They have the characteristics of enigmas. Do the eyes look different? Could you get a close up of the eye?
