leopard gecko help!

A new story entry has been added:

i have a leopard gecko. she is about 2 years old. i have a concern though with her she shedded about 2weeks ago and when she was finished the next day she had a huge bump on her front right wrist. i'm not sure what it is and im worried. can someine help me figure out what it is.

ps. i feed her grickets with calcium on them, and i also give her calcium in her dish. she has warm water everyday. the tempeture is perfect and the humidity is great.

Hello,

Can you post a picture? Size of enclosure? Temperatures? All supplements given and how often? Insects offered? A picture of the enclosure will be helpful as well.

I would advise an appointment with a good vet who specializes in Exotic Reptiles ASAP.

How does your husbandry compare with the link I posted? Are you lighting dusting the prey 2-3x per week with a phosphorus-free calcium with D3? Is the calcium inside the tank 24/7 a 100% pure calcium? What is your lighting and heating?

This leo seems to be missing the toe claws on this foot.

Please post another picture of the whole leo ;-)

i dust the crickets that i give him (10 a day) and i have calcium in a dish in the cage 24/7 as well. the heating is at 85-95 degrees during the day on the hot side and the cool is is about 75-80. at night its about 65-75.
the calcium i use is FLUCKERS CALCIUM with vitamin D3.
also i have a reptiles carpert in the cage and not sand because the sand isnt that great for them

Hi,

Have you been leaving the calcium w/D in the enclosure? I recommend you stop the calcium for at least 3 days. Try to get her to drink as much water as possible. Get her to a vet ASAP. There seems to be a connection with Fluker's Calcium in particular or maybe it's a coincidence, but this has been happening quite often. Here is a recent post with a similiar situation.

Well it's best to have a veterinarian examine her and give you a diagnosis. Read through the thread I posted. Take the bottle of Calcium with/D with you to the vet and explain that it was in the enclosure for her consume freely.

You really need 2 kinds of calcium: the 100% pure calcium is the kind you leave in the tank 24/7. The other kind of calcium is the phosphorus-free calcium with vitamin D3 which is the kind of calcium you lightly dust the prey with 2-3x weekly.

If you have been leaving calcium with D3 in the tank 24/7, please remove it right away. There is the chance of D3 overdosage. We walk a fine line with pets so small.
