Butter worms

I ordered and waiting on a small batch of butterworms and would like to hear anyone's feedback if they have provided them for their leo - if they liked them or not or noticed any sort of bad reaction to them.
I have been informed that they have caused allergic reactions with other gecko species and actually burned their skin!

I wanted to give them this worm occasionally as a once in a while treat.

I have not had this problem with any of my crested geckos? But only a few will take them

Thanks guys!
I will give them one tonight. wait for any sort of reaction, then provide them one a week to give them variety.

the only time i tried them my gecko puked the butterworm back up. ive heard other people have a good time with them though.

also... im not a big fan of them because theyre difficult to cultivate and therefore typically shipped in all the way from Chile. my geckos are trying to be locavores as best they can :)

sorry i dont mean to be a downer, hopefully your gecko really likes them. and youre exactly right, variety is a great thing for geckos.

went well with one today! They both enjoyed them, and already I have a normal poopy. will check the next poo out to see if it digested well! I guess they really are like oranges!

So did they digest them well? any signs of the worm in the feces?

I offered them one each again last night.
for Rex: the poop looked normal. maybe a LITTLE larger then normal- however. but normal brown with white tip. Rex enjoys them

Xena doesnt want any more butter worms, she is letting me know she doesnt like them and looks totally uninterested. her poop was normal colored but looked like it was in the shape of the worm.
so it works for one and not the other!

Ive never had problems. Feed them to my geckos once and a while. You should not feed butter worms as your gecko's only diet. You should mix it up once and a while and add crickets or roaches in there. As crickets and roaches are great as a staple diet. Butter worms may be a little fattening, thats why I say feed them with other things as well so they have a healthy diet. Great way to pack on weight though.
