Hi all :) my name is Erin, I'm 21 years old and i'm in college to become a veterinary nurse! I have three geckos: Winston, my bell albino male leo, Loki, my adorable little male crested gecko (I still need to figure out his morph color), & Ziggy Stardust my newest addition, a super fat male Golden gecko (just got him last week!). i love my boys soooo much! they are absolutely adorable. They make me laugh so much. I think I MAY be getting a sweet girl gargoyle (first female!) fairly soon, but I haven't decided. She needs a new home. Anyway, nice to meet you all (if anyones even reading this) and have a nice day! :D

A hearty welcome to you too, norgecko.

I have heard that Norway has some pretty stringent rules on keeping reptiles. Have you some geckos?

Norway is the only country in europe wich has a zero tolerance to reptile keeping. if u get cought even with a leopard gecko, they take the animal and often kills them, youself get a fine and if u get taken more times you can even go to hail.

the law itself is outdated. the estimated number of reptiles beeing kept in norway are said to be between 100.000 to 160.000
i myself believe it is alot more.

and yes i do keep gecko's and some other reptiles. all in a ''secret'' room in my house. only one who knows i keep them is my fiancee ( ofc ) but besides that noone knows.

If i want animals i most times have to go to sweden wich is a 14 hour car drive then smuggle them back to norway.

but now the government might change that law by accepting a positive list of around 27 species wich should be allowed to hold at home. but then again they said this for almost 14 years. but for the first time every part of the organs surrounding this law is now for a change.

all fingers crossed.

Norgecko.
