this is my rack system. i noticed that if i keep leos in it they dont do very well. is it problem with temperature cause the hot spot is 33C or is the problem the lack of light?
if i put them in normal terrarium with light bulb they do very good.
what do you think?
is it lack of light ?
or temperature?
temp is set on 33C cause some of tubes are for ball pythons

thanks

Back heat or belly heat? What temp is the cool end?

I use a rack system and my differences are, I use clear tubs, I also have more ventilation holes.

I suggest that you move them to a normal terrarium. Some geckos like it warmer than others and you are only providing one option. A few explanations as to why you may notice a difference:

wider temp gradient~ more hide options~optimal thermoregulation

more room for activity~ healthier and nicer muscle tone in gecko

more room allows for new items to be introduced~mental stimulation

lighting~ proper photoperiod~ can increase appetite, activity, overall well being

Do NOT raise the hot spot to 34-35 C. Something between 31-34 C is the recommended range for the hot area for leopard geckos.
