Leopard gecko death

My leopard gecko Rico died last night he was my 1st gecko. And I'm very sad that he died. I did all i could to save him, i took him to the vet and forse feed him. But in a month or so I will get a new leopard gecko. Do you have any name ideas? A few that I like are

A severe eye infection caused by skin in eye I gave him medicine every day but didn't help

I take it this was left over dried up shed?

Did you try using a Q-Tip to help him with it?

Sounds like leftover shed. Before you get a new gecko I advise to reading over Elizabeth's care sheet and then asking if you have any questions regarding things on it. You want this new gecko to have the best life and not suffer the death your old gecko did.

Yes left over shed, I gave him baths used a humid hide used eye drops and eye spray and medicine and q-tips and everything I could think of

I am sorry Rico has passed away.

It is very important to complete this Health Questionnaire to troubleshoot the cause of Rico's death so that the same thing does not happen to your new leo.

What substrate was Rico on? What calcium and multivitamins did you use? All husbandry is interconnected.

i know your pain. i had a VERY sweet leopard gecko that died with crypto. Hope you get a new gecko! When she died i bought four more leopard geckos that are all VERY healthy. I also had to bleach the cage and just to be sure i never use that cage. Helpful hint: if your gecko dies of disease, bleach the cage or get rid of it!

So sad for your loss. I would encourage you to take some time and learn from your experience with Rico before buying another leopard gecko. Perhaps you already have learned a lot about husbandry through your experience. There are always things we can do better.
