By providing overhead heat from a ceramic heat emitter or an Exo Terra Night-Glo moonlight bulb, you will have a more active leo. Embrace Calamity and others on GU have experimented with all 3 options. She and others confirm their leos are considerably more active when provided with an UTH as well as overhead lighting. Addiitionally, a 10 inch diameter dome will redirect the overhead heat best.
Temperatures for all leos regardless of size:
88-93 F (31-34 C) ground temp at warm end inside the warm dry hide
no greater than 85 F (29.5 C) air temp - 4 inches above ground on the warm end
no greater than 75 F (24.5 C) air temp - 4 inches above ground on the cool end
Leave the UTH on 24/7. Can turn off overhead heating at night.
I'm ordering the repast calcium plus as if now I am dusting most of my feeders every other day with calcium d3.
Im on my Mac now but I also check in on my iPod touch. Post #12 is just me saying I got my heat mat and stuff.
Petrie just had his first shed { with me } while I was away in Cincinatti![]()
Petrie's doing pretty good, I have a mealworm breeding setup going with a lot of beetles but no eggs yet. But the other day Petrie was shedding and he flipped over his moist hide before he finished. When I realized this I fixed the hide and saw that he still had loose skin covering some of his head and one eye and he was licking it. I left him for a little bit and he got all the skin off. That was yesterday and today when he walking around he had one eye closed. Could it be an eye infection? Idk what I should do thanks for anyone who responds.
