I know many breeders claim they're just trying to breed enigma syndrome out. But when I checked them out and find that they're crossing enigma into everything to try to get first dibs on naming them...well I just can't believe they're doing it for anything other than fame and a chance at naming a new combination.
I suspect most are breeding them for one simple reason....they sell. They are beautiful geckos, one of a kind, it's easy to see why they sell. Unfortunately a lot of hobbyists that buy enigmas have no idea what to expect. Responsible breeders will tell people what enigma syndrome is about, and let them know that it could come up at anytime. There are many breeders that still don't have even a disclaimer about them. And that in my opinion is wrong.
And to answer your question, no, nobody currently can claim they have a lineage of enigmas that do not exhibit enigma syndrome. It's still a mix bag of some offspring don't exhibit the syndrome, some do. And those that appear healthy still have a chance to show the syndrome later. One thing for certain is that all enigmas carry this gene, so all enigmas pass this gene down to their offspring.
