Shed will not come off around the eyes and nose

My sons Leo Gecko is having issues losing the shed around both eyes. We've tried a warm bath and gently rubbing the area with a Qtip. It doesn't seem to help. Her toes have also been a major problem the last two sheds and has actually lost toes. How can we help her with the shed? We keep her cage in the 40% range on humidity and she has a wet hide composed from a hollow log with damp moss. Thanks for any advice.

Hi,

Can you take a picture of your leo and enclosure?

What supplements do you dust the crickets with?

How long have you owned the leo?

What type of hygrometer are you using to monitor humidity?

THanks for the reply. Pictures are attached.
He's had the Gecko for about a year, and feeds her meal worms. He said he doesn't use the supplement very often. How often should he be using it? The Hygrometer came with the kit when we purchased it.
Appreciate any advice.
Thanks

There's so much wrong here that I don't know where to begin.:( Can you please direct him to this forum and have him read this caresheet for guidance. Many chances must be made before it's too late.

http://www.geckosunlimited.com/comm...-macularius-demo-video-4-jan-2013-update.html

Tell him to remove the substrate immediately and place him on paper towels until he's able to buy some slate or ceramic tiles. Those humidity gauges are rarely accurate. He can purchase a more reliable here.

Digital Hygrometers - Weather Instruments, Weather Radios & Cupolas

I would also suggest a vet visit for an examination and discuss a supplementation schedule that best suits his gecko. This supplement is incomplete and therefore I suggest that he switches to Zoo Med Repti-calcium with d3 and Reptivite without d3.

Please have him follow up with the forum.

Welcome to Geckos Unlimited.

Please do as Cricket has suggested. A quick fix you could make is making or purchasing another hide. That is a start :) Every Leopard Gecko needs 3hides, warm, moist and cool.

Mealworms aren't a very good staple diet, too high in fat and have a tougher exoskeleton which is harder to digest. Crickets or Dubia Roaches are the best staple diet.

Perhaps it wouldn't be a bad idea to fill out this health questionnaire? No offence but with what you've showed is wrong already I fear what else there may be... We are only here to help and ensure your sons gecko reaches his seniors :)
