yeah it is a 10 gallon, sorry forgot that, I read not to big on tank at first so I wasn't too sure, he came in the 10g. I have another empty one(10g) if I need. I recently got a reptile carpet to place in new set up, I have made my own little habitat with 2(didn't know they needed 3 all the time) hides a moist on top of the warm hide, (side note what would be the best to use in wet hide? I can just go out an get moss in the wild Alaskan outdoors but I thought it might cross contaminate the little guy so I haven't done so yet, maybe wet paper towel??) I also have a cool cave hang out on the cool side, but not "a hide", can I just rig up a third? Also he seems to have some left over shed on his little toes,... no wet hide at all when I got him.(thought they "only" needed them for shedding?) As far as feeding goes, first day, they said no need to feed. Second day ate 7 good size meal worms, 3rd day had 4 meal worms and 3 crickets, an today 4 meal worms an 2 crickets. Does this seem normal when I do clean his messes' my hand is in tank he seems chill a little skitish but I'm not sure how much he was ever handled. Haven't pet, or picked him up. Just feed an clean. Like you said just trying to let him adjust, will it throw him off if I swap tank setup on him? I got clean 10g ready to swap when I'm finished with his hides an such. Almost forgot is this a morph or regular leo? just wondering so i can do more homework on him. Thanks for your time an effort on my first time gecko adventure.
I'm sorry, I'm confused, your swapping him out of a 10gallon to put him into a different 10gallon? A bigger tank is ALWAYS better, assuming the proper heating is provided as well as hiding places.
A better substrate to consider is tiles, reptile carpet is harder to clean and can hold bacteria. Tile is cheap, looks nice and conducts heat well.
As for the hides you do need 3minimum in there all the time. Like I said, warm hide, moist hide and cool hide. Just make a hide from a margarine container if you need too

The moist hide not only helps in shedding but helps hydrate your Leo and provides a general place with higher humidity as well. So yes, moist hide 24/7

The moist hide should be at least half way over the heat mat and you can use paper towel or Eco-Earth. Moss, holds moisture well, but there are stories of geckos ingesting it which is never good let alone the smell it has.
To help with the stuck shed on his toes you can try giving him a shallow bath in Luke warm water. If that doesn't help perhaps, very gently, try taking a Q-Tip and try to rub it off. First step is getting that moist hide in there
With feeding, you don't want to use mealworms all that often. Crickets or Dubia Roaches are the best staple diets. Be sure to provide variety through other feeders such as hornworms, Phoenix worms, silk worms and butter worms. How are you supplementing the gecko?
Judging from the picture (and I'm not a very good judge of age and what not through photos) the gecko seems
possibly close to a year (I could be way off... Someone else with chime in I'm sure). If that is the case then he should be fine being feed 2-3 times a week with about 4week old crickets, 4 or 5 at a time?
It isn't a "normal" leopard gecko morph if that's what you mean, I'm pretty sure it is a blizzard as you say
