Yes I do. I'll be sure to monitor her when I can to make sure she's not eating any, and continually check her feces to see if she has digested any. I will also continue to feed her crickets outside and mealworms only in a bowl on the warm side. If it becomes a problem I will switch substrates ASAP. Thats another reason why I decided to do her cool side instead of the warm side, she rarely is on that side so I figured it would cut down on risk a bit more than the warm side. I actually really like how it turned out! I got everything for it for $35! Not too bad! They actually had a few adult female geckos that I had to refrain from looking at so I didn't bring home another. :lol: Final step is to take off that stupid Spider-Man background and find/make a nice looking one.

Yes actually! It's a medium size gecko cave and she fits great. She fits perfectly in the hole and has a lot of room inside. She is a little over a year and a half so I don't think she'll grow much more if any. However if she outgrows it I will purchase the large. Just purchased new therms for the air temps as my others broke during the move. I was worried about the heating not being correct due to a bigger size tank, however the temps are perfect!

really dig it, right out of the desert, did ya grab the wood from nature or the store, seems pretty cool looking for store bought. Now spidey looks really out of place. Hopefully your little pal enjoys the change, I bet this cost you less then you were planing..I hope.

Just an update- after having this setup for a month and a few weeks I decided to ditch the sand/Eco-earth substrate and so now I have half tile (warm side) and reptile carpet (cool side).
I also had to switch back to my 20 gallon long sadly, due to space issues and Fatty's eating issues. The 40 gallon did take up quite a bit of space in my tiny room and also only opened from the top as well as fatty complete went off feed while in this tank. I moved her back to the 20 long and she immediately took a mealworm. Maybe she feels more secure in the tank. Who knows. All I know is she has plenty of room in the 20 gallon, seems more relaxed and like herself than when she was in the bigger tank. I could have dealt with not having much space in my room, but seeing her back to normal made me decide to stick with it. I also felt safe with the carpet. I loved the look of the sand mix but I was always so nervous with it.

Oh no,
. It just takes a little while for some leos to get accustomed to changes. Unless you had a temperature discrepancy due to more space? She would have been much better off in the long run. It could have also been the substrate that she was unhappy with.

I am keeping the cage for future use with her when I move out. I live with my mother and grandparents, me and my mother share a room. (Not fun being 20 and sharing a room with your mom)
I had spot on temps with the bigger cage, I adjust wattages and my thermostat to meet ideal temps.
The 20 gallon has front doors while the 40 didn't which also provided some issues as well. The dresser I had was so tall that I couldn't get into the tank from the top without using a stool.
I'll be saving money for a 36" long exo terra which has the from opening doors in the meantime, as well as try to work something out with my family as to where I can put her. They don't want her outside my room so I'm going to have talk to them about that. I want to give her the biggest space possible, I just have to find the right place first.

I did talk to them and they said that I could have my gecko in the living room on the empty table as long as the tank fit. Well only my 20 long fit, so that was out. I'm going to just keep her in the 20 long for now, whole trying to rearrange things to make room for the 40. It's funny the 40 is only 6" longer but man those 6" make a difference while trying to find a place to fit it!!

Glad the living room is an option now, Merissa! Maybe good if it is not too noisy?
