Hungry Hungry Gecko

So I've had Randal our Blizzard Leo, for about a month+, seems well adjusted eating great, an was able to pick him up for a cage change. Since he's at home in his new 30 gallon tank, he' loves to crawl around on his wood decor. He seems to be on hunting mode every time I open the lid or come close to tank. My question is for his size (check pic for size ref.) the clay hide he's laying in, is about 7 1/2 inches wide. so give or-take a bit, being that his tail is hanging out the hide but he's not to the nose of it.Randals pose.jpg

He scampers around the tank hunting for food. I feel like I"m not feeding him enough I've done the every other day thing an here an there with meal worms. And at that I do the 5 crickets give or take how i grab them out.(dust covered of course, an gut loaded). I still feel like he's not getting full. He has never turned down food, I've read not to let crickets stay in there at night cause they can nibble an bit the gecko(which we never want) Yesterday I dropped in 5, or 6 dusted an he ate them under 10 minutes an was searching his tank for any more stragglers. I also read some people manage to get their geckos to bulk out, an put on some chub. Is that good? thanks for your help thanks!!

Most geckos will eat what they need. If he's still looking for crickets, drop in 1 or 2 more and see if he eats them. I do leave crickets in most of my tanks with no problem (I have 1 gecko that seems to get nibbled on by mealworms, so his tank is always free of extra creatures). Give him what he wants and he'll eventually level off.
