Hey everyone
Thought i'd ask this question in here seeing as I haven't really found any other instances of our crestys current behaviour on the webosphere!
To give a bit of background... We got our crested gecko (Missy) about a year ago. She was about 9ish months old when we got her, and hadn't been handled much, if at all in the store.
We got off on an extremely wrong foot with her. When we first bought her home, we picked her up to take her out of the box and put her in her tank. And she freaked out, bit my girlfriend and even dropped its tail. Quite traumatic for all involved!
Anyway, this isn't really why Im posting... We resided ourselves to the fact that she just doesn't like being handled, and so ever since we've left her to her own thing. We regularly feed her live locusts. which she loves hunting, and we enjoy watching. But is always pretty shy around us, and will run the other way or freeze if she sees us.
However, recently she's started behaving almost aggressively. Shes started prowling around the front of the tank (where i usualy open it) and whenever she sees us, she jumps at the glass and the last couple of times i've been to feed her or change her water, she's jumped at me, today she actually managed to jump all the way out (nightmare trying to get her back in, seeing as she hates being handled)
Just wondered, if anyone can shed any light? Is this just "terrible teens" or is there something else that could be bothering her? Shes seemed perfectly happy but shy until now.
Here's a picture of her, for anyone interested, thanks in advance
