Lamp size for 10 gallon tank?

Hey! I've had my gecko (named Gummy) since mid August. Right now I have a small zoo med repti therm under tank heater in a 10 gallon tank, and it doesn't have a thermostat or any sort of controls so I have no idea how hot it is. Gummy has been totally fat and happy, until recently. My gecko hasn't been eating, and I think it's because now that we are into the winter months Gummy's terrarium is too cold so his metabolism has slowed down. I think a lamp in combination with the heating pad I have now will be sufficient for him, but I'm not sure what size or brand I should get. Also, can I place the lamp directly on to the screen top? Any advice is appreciated, and please respond ASAP, thanks! {edit- by size I do mean wattage}

Honestly it is rather impossible to get the wrong temperature gradient in a 10 gallon tank. A 20 gallon long tank is the minimum for a leopard gecko, and you won't have the right gradients till you upgrade to such. Once you have that, the right temps will be most likely correct by using an UTH with a thermostat plus a low wattage heat lamp(60 or under). Read the caresheet on this site regarding leopard geckos and you'll find out the correct way to take care of your gecko and set up it's tank. This will get your gecko back to eating and digesting right.
Here's the caresheet: http://www.geckosunlimited.com/comm...-demo-video-4-jan-2013-update.html#post302242

First you need to get a thermometrer, because the temperatures can vary a LOT depending on where you live, so, in order for any one to try to help, we would need to know the exact temperatures you are providing right now, so we can know how much heat you need
