Our New Leo

We decided to get another Leo. We have a great & knowledgable family owned store here locally and they had a great selection. After looking at some real some real young ones we ended up getting this guy/girl because of the great & curious personality they had! No name yet but we're thinking. :)

:yahoo: She is lovely! Very good idea to buy a well-started leo rather than a hatchling.

You mention on another thread that you use paper towels as a substrate. That's alright. You may wish to consider textured tiles or slate. Those make an attractive risk-free substrate that is easily cleaned and permanent. Tiles also conducts heat from an UTH well.

How about making this thread your Leo Thread? When you keep your questions to one thread we can reply faster and all the info is right here for other posters. Cuts down the back and forths tremendously. :D

Thanks but I'm not sure what you mean... I had a question about the proper heat but I posted that in the Husbandry, Housing & Heating forum where I thought it goes.

It's somewhat a matter of preference. All our time is limited.

Some members love to read the progress of a GU leo from beginning to end, a history of sorts. :)

When a member continues questions, even on "different" issues but with the same leo, on the same thread it saves us time finding your next question somewhere else, prevents repeated advice even from the same person ;-), and gives every poster the BIG picture on your leo's husbandry. It's like having a PCP!

Husbandry issues are soooooooooooo inter-related. One question naturally brings up several more.

Having just about one general thread on your leo is best, I think.

Does that make sense?

With all the respect for everyone's opinion, Cinnamongirl, I disagree that your leo's tail looks skinny, young geckos do not have plumpy tails because they are growimg, and their food intake goes into growing... once they reach maturity and their total lenght,, they start plumpig up their tails, I would advice against giving him wax worms just yet, he is very young, and waxies are pure fat, heed needs propper nutrition right now, he can have waxies as an ocassional treat when he is an adult.
