New baby crestie hasn't found food bowl yet....help!

I just got my baby crested gecko last night, this is the first crested gecko i've had. I've been told it's most likely a girl. Anyways I have "her" in the exo terra 12x12x18 terrarium with hanging plats, a floor plant, two bamboo hides and a tree stump hide. I also have the ultimate gecko ledge with food and water bowls but so far "she" hasn't found her food bowl. She licked some water from the glass, so "she" has drank a little but I'm worried about "her" not finding her food bowl with repashy CGD in it. I know it can take babies a while to find it, but I'm going to be paranoid and worried until she does! Any advice on how I can help her find it? I don't want to pick her up or touch her because she's still a little stressed from being in a new environment.

I did respond to your other post with your concern about people not responding. Please note that you gave us 5 hours. It was Sunday afternoon. Many of us were out doing things during the day Sunday and not sitting over the computer. I gave a short answer to your concern about your crestie in the other thread. I remember having the same worry about my juvie gold dust day gecko in an even larger cage (I think I posted something titled "tiny gecko large cage"). They do figure it out eventually and they can go for awhile without eating. You could also feed it some small crickets; it's a lot of fun to watch cresties hunt.

as I said (also in response to another post) it might be helpful if you read back through other new peoples' questions. a very common question for new crestie owners is how to tell if their geckos are eating, and then also when to worry if it seems like they're not eating. if you were to read a few of the many existing threads on this topic, you might get the information faster.

You most likely will never see your crestie eating, or even be able to notice any of the CGD gone. As juveniles, their stomachs are roughly half the size of a pea, and the nutritional content of quality CGD's can sustain them with just a few licks. As Aimless said, this is a very common worry with new owners- chances are, every new owner felt this at some point. It's natural! With that said, though, using the 'Search' function helps reduce litter threads on forums, especially ones addressing the same topics.

Furthermore, you shouldn't be upset about not getting a response for a few hours. It may come across as a little rude to some members.
