Dish Feeding?

I used to have the time and money to buy all sorts of critters for my LG. As of late I need to get it to simply eat mealworms out of a dish. I bought a lees mealworm dish and have put in a good 8 giant mealworms and it completely ignores it. It has walked up to it, done the "head turn" and walked off.

My feeding technique in the past was to throw a dubia, giant mealworm, cricket, etc in front of it and let it get it quick. It generally only eats two prey items per sitting. Its about 25 grams last I weighed it and just shed ( wild type ). It is in good health and a wonderful LG.

Will it eventually get hungry enough to eat out of the dish? Am I doomed to more time consuming feeding techniques? I know you cant just throw 3 mealworms in a dish and hope for the best, its just not enough movement. I do have a relatively full dish though.

Removed dusted mealworms and had a much more intense reply (maybe to much calcium/vitamins or smell difference). It went right up to them smelled them and walked off. I then took two from the dish and dropped them in front of IT, both were eaten.

*ugh*

I'm in the same boat. I hand feed one at a time to mine. They will eat about half the amount they normally do out of a bowl. I'm sure they would get hungry enough eventually to completely eat out of a dish though.

My leo loves to eat from her 8 oz clear glass bowl. A slanted rock I found on the beach acts as a ramp right to the lip of the dish.

I can even handfeed her now if I wish...both crickets and dubia. She's about 10 years old, 72ish grams, 9 inches long, and maintains her weight.

Hang in there.
