They hold temp and humidity like none other.

I will never give a doller to Zoomed ,ExoTerra,etc again.

Its not technichally DIY. You can save 100 plus dollars using your eyeballs and brain and it looks good too;-)

If you like the way it looks, go for it. I prefer mine in glass that I can see and I like the look of exo-terra (which I only get used and never pay more than $30 for), but to each his/her own.

I only use tubs to grow out juvies, but as Aliza says if you like it, go for it.
I also get all of my exos used, and I've found quite large vivs very cheap. It just takes patience.

What I like about vivs with doors is that grabbing and picking up a gecko (when you need to) is a lot easier since you're not coming in from above :3 But everyone likes different stuff!

I couldnt pass up 10 dollars for a solid enlosure and I asked myself will the gecko like it. She seems contempt. I can check on her any time and with one way to visually see the gecko and added security it increased the amount of movement; mind blowing. To each their own but no more glass or even used enclosures.
